Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Teaghlach Tech LLC ("we", "us") handles information in the Got It, Babe app (the "App"). It covers you, the person using the App, and the people you talk with when you record, such as your partner.
The short version
- Your notes live on your phone. Transcripts, summaries, clips, notes, names, voice profiles and location never sit on our servers.
- Audio passes through, then is deleted. A recording goes to our server and our transcription partner only long enough to be turned into text and summarized. Then it is deleted everywhere, usually within minutes.
- We have no account for you. No sign-up, no profile, no email needed.
- We never sell your data, show ads, track you across apps, or use your talks to train AI.
- She is protected too. She is asked before every recording, and her voice is only recognized if she agrees.
1. Our approach
The App is built so that we hold as little as possible. There are no accounts. Almost everything the App creates stays on your phone. What leaves your phone is recording audio, so it can be turned into text and summarized, and short notes sent to answer your questions. Then they are deleted.
2. What stays on your phone
These are created and stored only on your device. We cannot see them.
- Transcripts, summaries and notes, including "About her" details, ongoing topics, reminders and your daily recap.
- Short clips of key moments (the "Hear it" buttons). The full recording is not kept.
- Names you enter for yourself and your partner.
- Voice profiles for you and, if she agrees, for her. These stay on the device that made them and are excluded from phone backups (see section 5).
- Location, if you turn on "when I leave" reminders. It is checked on your phone only and never sent to us.
- Your settings, streak and calendar choice.
Because this data stays on the device, it does not move to a new phone, and we cannot restore it if the phone is lost or the App is deleted.
3. What we receive, and why
- Recording audio, to turn it into text and a summary. Deleted from our server and our partners as soon as the summary is made, usually within minutes.
- Transcript text and notes, briefly, to write the summary, update "About her", and answer questions you ask in Ask. We do not store them; section 6 says how long our providers may keep them.
- Questions you ask by voice in Ask, to turn them into text. The audio and its text are deleted as soon as your question is filled in.
- Purchase receipt from Apple or Google, to confirm your free first talk, trial or subscription. Kept while your subscription is active, plus 12 months for billing records.
- Technical data (IP address, app version, phone model, time of request), to keep the service running, stop abuse and fix errors. Kept 30 days.
- Feedback you send, and your email if you add it, to read and answer it. Kept until resolved, then up to 2 years.
- Crash reports (on unless you turn them off): the error, app version, phone model and operating system, to fix bugs. Kept 90 days.
We do not receive your contacts, your calendar, your location or your payment card. Apple and Google handle payment.
4. Your partner and other people you record
People you talk with did not sign up for the App, so we protect them by design:
- The App shows a "Mind if I record?" screen before recording, plays a sound, and shows a red light while it records. A 30-day standing OK can only be given by her, on her screen, and can be turned off anytime in Settings.
- Her voice is only recognized if she agrees on the "Can it recognize your voice?" screen. Section 5 explains voice profiles.
- What she says is handled the same way as everything else: audio is deleted after summarizing, and the notes stay on your phone.
If someone you recorded contacts us. Anyone you recorded can email us at privacy@teaghlachtech.com, whether or not they use the App. We will tell them what we hold, which after processing is nothing from the conversation itself, and delete anything about them that we do hold, such as an email they sent us. We cannot reach into your phone, so we will explain that the person who recorded them can delete the talk, and her voice profile, in the App. We answer within 45 days.
5. Voice profiles
A voice profile is a set of numbers the App makes from a short sample of someone's speech, so it can tell who said what in a talk. Some state laws, such as those in Illinois, Texas and Washington, treat this as a biometric identifier. This section is our notice and written policy for voice profiles.
- Made and kept only on your phone. Voice profiles are created on your phone, stored in the App's private storage, excluded from phone backups, and never sent to us or to any of our providers. We never receive, see, sell, lease, trade or profit from them.
- Used for one thing. A profile is only used to label who is speaking in your talks. It is not used to identify anyone outside the App.
- Hers needs her own informed consent. Before her profile is made, the App hands her a screen that explains what is made, that it stays on this phone, and how to erase it. It is only made if she taps yes. If she says no, talks label her "Her" instead.
- She can change her mind. Either of you can erase her profile at any time in Settings, Voice profiles. Making a new one asks her again.
- How long it is kept. A profile is erased when either of you erases it, when the App is deleted from the phone, or after 3 years without being used, whichever comes first.
6. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of service providers. Each processes data only to provide their service to us, under their business terms or a data processing agreement with us, and is not allowed to train AI on it.
- AssemblyAI turns audio into text. We opt out of their model training, and our server deletes each audio file and transcript through their system as soon as the summary is made.
- Anthropic runs Claude, the AI that writes summaries, updates "About her" and answers Ask questions. Under Anthropic's commercial terms it does not train on what we send, and it keeps it no longer than its standard API retention period, only to check for misuse.
- Cloudflare runs our server, which passes audio along and does not save it.
- Apple and Google handle downloads, payments and subscription receipts under their own privacy policies.
- Sentry receives crash reports. They contain only error details, the app version, phone model and operating system, never recordings, transcripts, notes or names, and Sentry is set not to store IP addresses.
We do not sell or share your information for advertising, and we do not use third-party ads or cross-app tracking.
7. How we keep it secure
- Everything sent between the App, our server and our providers is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher).
- Our server only accepts audio from a valid free talk, trial or subscription, and never writes audio to disk.
- Our transcription provider encrypts data at rest and holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification.
- On your phone, notes and clips are kept in the App's private storage, which the phone encrypts.
No system is perfectly secure. Anyone who unlocks your phone, or a phone that is rooted or jailbroken, may be able to read what is stored on it. Use a passcode.
If something goes wrong. If we learn of a security incident affecting information we hold or that passes through our server or providers, we will investigate and contain it, and tell the people affected and any regulators as the law requires, without unreasonable delay. Because we have no accounts or contact details for most users, we will tell you in the App and on our website.
8. Your choices
- Delete a talk: open it and tap Delete. Deleting the whole talk removes its transcript, clips and notes.
- Delete everything: Settings, "Delete all recordings and notes".
- Erase a voice profile: Settings, Voice profiles.
- Turn off her standing OK: Settings.
- Phone permissions: turn off the microphone, calendar, notifications or location anytime in your phone's settings.
- Crash reports: on by default. Turn them off with "Send crash reports" in Settings.
- Delete the App: removes everything the App stored on that phone. Cancel your subscription separately in your App Store or Google Play settings.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including Oregon, California and other US states, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or use for targeted ads. We do not sell data or use it for targeted ads.
Because we have no accounts and keep content on your phone, the main way to use these rights is in the App itself. For anything we hold, such as feedback or support emails, contact us at privacy@teaghlachtech.com. We will reply within 45 days and will not treat you differently for asking. You may appeal a decision by replying to our answer; if you're not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
What we collected in the last 12 months, by the categories California law uses. The sources are you and your phone, and Apple or Google for receipts. We disclose these only to the providers in section 6, for the purposes in section 3, and we never sell or share them.
- Audio and electronic information: recordings and voice questions, processed for minutes and then deleted.
- Identifiers: IP address, kept 30 days, and your email only if you send us one.
- Commercial information: your store purchase receipt, kept as described in section 3.
- Internet or other network activity: technical request logs and crash reports, kept 30 and 90 days.
- Sensitive personal information: none collected by us. Voice profiles and location stay on your phone. We do not use any information to infer characteristics about you.
- Not collected: contacts, calendar, precise location, payment card, browsing history or advertising identifiers.
10. Children
The App is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Users must not record children without a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child's information reached us, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Where the App is offered
The App is offered to people in the United States, and our server and providers are in the United States. We do not offer it in the European Union or the United Kingdom. If that changes, we will update this policy first with what the law there requires, such as the legal basis for each use and safeguards for transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We will post changes here and update the date at the top. If a change is important, such as a new kind of data leaving your phone, we will tell you in the App before it takes effect.
